Guerlain’s new anti-aging product Abeille Royale Bee Lab Shotᵀᴹ, featuring Genewel’s freeze-drying technology originally developed for medical devices
Genewel has partnered with the French premium luxury beauty maison Guerlain to tackle the global cosmetics market.
The company announced that its proprietary freeze-drying technology, originally developed for medical devices, has been applied to Guerlain’s new anti-aging product, Abeille Royale Bee Lab Shotᵀᴹ. The product launched in France in July and is now rolling out across Europe and Asia.
Leveraging its advanced freeze-drying process, Genewel has preserved active ingredients such as Black Bee honey and vitamin C derivative at high concentration, ensuring effective delivery to the skin.
This innovation builds on Genewel’s expertise in high polymer biomaterial manufacturing, a technology previously applied in medical products such as Matigen, a tissue replacement material.
Looking ahead, Genewel plans to continue adapting its medical technologies for the cosmetics sector as part of its strategy to strengthen global competitiveness.
The company also recently signed a supply agreement with a leading Swiss dermatological pharmaceutical firm to provide hydrocolloid patches for skin care and treatment. These products are already available in Australia, the UK, and Germany, with distribution set to expand to the U.S. and Asia in the second half of the year.
Han Sang-Deok, CEO of Genewel, stated, “We’ve applied over 20 years of medical device technology and expertise to Guerlain’s skincare product. With this collaboration with a major global brand, we plan to accelerate the expansion of our cosmetics business into international markets.”
