Genewel said it has entered into a development partnership with Nanobiosystem to jointly work on medical devices and cosmetic products using nano-regenerative technology.
Under the agreement, the companies will collaborate on wound care products that incorporate nano-regenerative scaffold technology, with an initial focus on tissue repair applications.
Nanobiosystem’s scaffold technology will be integrated into Genewel’s wound dressing, Medifoam®, to create a tissue regeneration patch designed to protect wounds and reduce scarring, the companies said.
The nano-regenerative scaffold is produced using ultra-precision microfabrication techniques and is engineered to replicate the structure of the extracellular matrix, a key component in cell interaction and tissue regeneration.
When applied to a wound, the scaffold is designed to create a biological environment that resembles human tissue, supporting cell growth and promoting healing.
The two companies said they plan to pursue a sales partnership following product development to shorten the time to commercialization and expand into overseas markets.
The companies said they are exploring the application of Nanobiosystem’s nano-regenerative particle technology to aesthetic products within Genewel’s broader medical device and cosmetics portfolio.
“This partnership brings together Genewel’s manufacturing and commercialization capabilities with Nanobiosystem’s nano-patch technology,” said Han Sang-deok, CEO of Genewel. He added that the collaboration is expected to support the development of next-generation Medifoam products and strengthen the company’s global presence.
Kim Jang-ho, CEO of Nanobiosystem, said the company’s extracellular matrix-based nanotechnology has gained international recognition, citing its CELLOIT brand, which won first place in the Skin and Body Care category at the 2025 North America Cosmoprof Awards. He said the partnership with Genewel would create opportunities for further business expansion.
